Transregional Collaborative Research Centre TR52

The "Transregio 52", a common research project of biological laboratories in Wuerzburg, Mainz, and Berlin, started in summer 2008 after final approval by the funding DFG (Deutsche  Forschungsgemeinschaft). The scientific goal is to gain new insight into the function of T lymphocytes, especially by "Transcriptional Programming of Individual T-Cell Subsets", the official title of the scientific consortium. The funding of its 21 research projects, organized into 4 project groups designated A, B, C, and Z, amounts to about 3 million € annually, starting in 2008 till 2012 when they will be assessed for success and prolongation.
